Stay warm this Winter, with Canterbury, Exo 2 and Bering

The romantic image of a lone motorcyclist braving the cold weather isn’t as pleasant when you’re the one freezing as you trundle down a motorway. But it doesn’t have to be that way if you invest in the right kit.

Base Layers:

Start with the right base layers to keep you warm. We’ve got a range of Coolmax and Spada layers which can be used all year round, and we’ve just added the popular Canterbury brand. In summer, base layers keep you cool, wick away sweat, and mean that you don’t end up stuck to the inside of your leathers - particularly embarrassing if you end up unable to escape from a set of one-piece leathers.

But in Winter they also help to regulate your body temperature, and keep you warm. We’ve tested the Canterbury Cold Base Layers ourselves for the last couple of years and rate them as just about the best we’ve used - and they’re 35% off right now.

Heated Clothing:

You might find that base layers keep you warm enough on most days, but you get caught out by the occasional chill. Schuberth and Scorpion EXO motorcycle helmets are now in stock as part of our expanding range of kit and clothing. As official dealers for UK distributors Tran Am, we’ve got a good selection already available to purchase, so we’ve picked out a few of our favourites.

The first motorcycle helmet produced by Schuberth was the Aero 1, back in 1954. In 1976 they released their first composite motorcycle helmet, and more than 20 years ago they introduced the Sun Race, which was the first lid with an integrated sun visor. The German firm also introduced the first flip-front motorcycle helmet in 1999, and they continue to aim maximum safety and comfort with their products. Interestingly, they’re also the only helmet manufacturer who own their own wind and acoustic tunnels for testing.

Scorpion EXO helmets are just as interesting, with an 86,000 square metre factory containing 600 staff, and aiming to control every single operation in-house to ensure quality. It’s already become one of the top 5 leading brands for American motorcyclists, and now has a European headquarters to spread the word over here.

It was great to announce that we are now dealing with Kappa Moto, a company I have dealt with for over 20 years. Their range of quality products have increased from a small range of luggage to compliment their sister company Givi, to a stand alone range of hard and soft luggage as well as a range of helmets, clothing and other motorcycle accessories. While we are still working on listing what is available it will still be worth giving us a call as most items are available within 2 working days. The new helmet range is well designed and exceptional quality and with the stock of the KV-1 we have at £139.99 definitely worth a look at.

These helmets come from one of the biggest helmet factories in China. In the past helmet from China have not been taken seriously but with helmets that reach 4 star Sharp and accredited ACU gold labels they now have to be looked at as a way of protecting yourself and realistic prices. We have the V190 full face Rage helmet on offer at less than £40.
