Stay warm this Winter, with Canterbury, Exo 2 and Bering
The romantic image of a lone motorcyclist braving the cold weather isn’t as pleasant when you’re the one freezing as you trundle down a motorway. But it doesn’t have to be that way if you invest in the right kit.
Base Layers:
Start with the right base layers to keep you warm. We’ve got a range of Coolmax and Spada layers which can be used all year round, and we’ve just added the popular Canterbury brand. In summer, base layers keep you cool, wick away sweat, and mean that you don’t end up stuck to the inside of your leathers - particularly embarrassing if you end up unable to escape from a set of one-piece leathers.
But in Winter they also help to regulate your body temperature, and keep you warm. We’ve tested the Canterbury Cold Base Layers ourselves for the last couple of years and rate them as just about the best we’ve used - and they’re 35% off right now.
Not only that, but Canterbury was started in 1904 as a rugby brand, so they’re also perfect for other sports, or keeping you warm working in a warehouse packing motorcycle kit for delivery!
Heated Clothing:
Using heated clothing on a motorcycle can make a massive difference. We’ve got several products from innovative UK firm EXO 2, starting at just £89.99 for the Stormwalker 2 Bodywarmer. Keeping your core temperature up is important both for comfort and safety - no-one is at their best when they’re freezing!
And like many people, we find out extremities get most affected by the cold, so we’ve got the Stormguard Heated Gloves and Heatsole heated insoles for your hands and feet.
Heat Pax:
You might find that base layers keep you warm enough on most days, but you get caught out by the occasional chill. That’s why various jackets, such as the Bering Odyssee, include linings ready to insert a Heat Pax warming system. They take a few minutes to warm up, and provide heat for hours to give you extra warmth when you need it. Not only is the Bering Odyssee currently 20% off, but we’re also chucking in a set of heat packs which will give you up to 20 hours of extra heating when you need it.
That should keep you warm and toasty no matter when and where you’re riding. And when you get to your destination, it’s worth something to keep your head warm - we’d suggest a Marc Marquez beanie hat to help your claim that any slides were intentional!
